Lions Gwandalan Spring Festival 2011

The Gwandalan Lions Spring Festival

Festival summary 2011

The fifth Lions Gwandalan Spring Festival on the 18th of September has been the most successful one and most entertaining one with crowds galore. Even the weather has been kind to us with fabulous spring temperatures on the day.

An estimated 3500 locals and visitors on the day and hundreds of kids enjoying the all Free Rides and Entertainment Event; even an all day Kindy Farm and Puppet Show was included.

45 Market Stalls and 12 Community Information Booths were attracting buyers and supplying information on what’s happening in our community.

Donations to community and sporting groups run up to $9,250.00 by the Lions Club to 7 recipients. The Lioness Club donated a further $2,000.00 to 4 needy groups. Even our New Gwandalan Leo Club jumped on the band wagon and donated monies the Fire Brigade, the Scouts and the Surf Life Savers.

We have to thank our major sponsors the Gwandalan Bowling Club, Ray Murray Real Estate, Coal & Allied, Wyong Councillors, Delta Electricity, Gwandalan Surgery, Gwandalan Pharmacy and of course all our 27 local business who together sponsored the event with donations in excess of $10.000.

Without that business generosity it would not have been possible to create a family festival like the one we have experienced.

Thanks to all the Lions, Lions Ladies, Lioness & Partners, as well as the members of the Leo Club who all provided us with a show of strength of the Gwandalan Lions Family Service Club.
